Members of the Royal British Legion, veterans and local councillors gathered at war memorials across the Three Towns on Saturday to pay their respect to the Armed Forces community – from currently serving troops to service families, veterans and cadets – as part of Armed Forces Day.
The annual event is held in June to commemorate the service of men and women in the British Armed Forces.
Provost Ian Clarkson, North Ayrshire’s Veterans Champion, also raised the Armed Forces Day flag at Cunninghame House to mark the occasion.
