An EXTRAORDINARILY talented North Ayrshire family of artists are auctioning original works to help children with life-shortening illnesses across Scotland.

James and Doreen Davis, together with their children Jason and Emma, who all come from Beith, have submitted 28 exclusive pieces in total for the Children’s Hospices Across Scotland (CHAS) Online Art Auction.

The Davis family are all Glasgow School of Art graduates and are each accomplished artists in their own right.

Jason said: “Growing up, my parents were always painting so they had a strong influence in my sister and I becoming artists too.

“We are all really happy and honoured to be involved in the CHAS online auction and hope the event raises as much money as possible.”

Dad James, who specialises in landscape, portrait, figurative and commission work, has paintings in many public and private collections worldwide including those of the Vatican HRH Prince Philip.

Former teacher Doreen meanwhile is a painter of landscapes, still life and figurative work, with pieces held in public collections at various places including Strathclyde University and Princeton University in America.

Emma was awarded the British Contemporary Artist Award 2020 and painter and sculptor Jason, like his sister, has a long list of accolades.

Diane Alton, CHAS high profile events manager, said: “I would like to say a huge thank you to the Davis family for the stunning pieces they have submitted.”

The auction runs until July 3. The artworks included range in price from £95 to £13,250.
