After beer gardens and street cafes received the green light to reopen on Monday, some makeshift 'beer gardens' have caught Twitter's imagination.

Social media users took to Twitter to express their thoughts on some of the more minimalistic beer gardens they have seen put together.

In Motherwell, the efforts of the Brass Button have caught the attention of quite a few punters.

What appears to be a car park was roped off with chains, with tables and chairs scattered across the area.

Craig Campbell initially shared the image and wrote: "Nice beer garden in Motherwell if anyone fancies a pint."

Another social media user commented that he would take his partner there for a "romantic meal", adding: "She'll love the ambience."

However, others came to its defence and made it clear the pub was well-loved by residents.

Others raised eyebrows at the beer garden outside Glasgow's White Elephant. However, residents were excited to visit the beer garden which was advertised as South Side's biggest.

One local dismissed the criticism and said: "Don't worry about the few that complain, they clearly don't appreciate all the effort you and your staff have had to go through to serve the public."

Outdoor seating by a well-loved Glasgow pub in the South Side, The Lauriston Bar, also caught the attention of Twitter.

However, one punter added that it is not about the looks of the outdoor space and wrote: "Hang on now folks, does it, or does it not, tick the boxes for social distancing/drinking?"

Have you seen any interesting outdoor seating?
