The refurbishment of Cumnock Bus Station is nearly complete as this picture, courtesy of Cumnock Community Councillor Michael McPake, shows.

All six shelters are in place and all that remains is for the parking spots for the buses to be tarmacked at the site just off of the A70 in the town centre.

The new building will benefit from dedicated CCTV linked directly to East Ayrshire Council’s Risk Management Centre to help boost security within the area.

The proposals for the station were put forward in 2017.

The project was due to be completed in the 2019/2020 financial year but building work was halted because of COVID-19, hence the delay.
