A man found trying to harm himself is being searched for between Dreghorn and Irvine.

The man, described by a witness as 5 foot 10 inches, with fair hair, wearing a versace top, black joggers and a khaki green jacket, was discovered near Corsehill Mount Road, Dreghorn.

The witness said he tried to sober up the man with coffee, he gave an age and address but no name, and then ran away.

He said: "Police are looking for him but If anyone sees him give me a mail please.

"I’ll no sleep the night.

"Was last seen at Corsehill Bank Mount inbetween Dreghorn and Irvine."

An unrelated search for a man reported missing from Stevenston spotted in Kilwinning and Irvine has ended after Andrew Coyle was found safe.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Mr Coyle has been traced safe and well and has no connection with any incident at Corsehill Bank Nr Dreghorn."

The police said they could not comment on the ongoing incident.
