A man has now been arrested after a knife-wielding thug made off with a haul of valium in a robbery that left chemist staff shaken but uninjured.
A 38-year-old suspect has now been charged for alleged involvement in the robbery - where a man entered Boots on High Street and threatened staff with a knife.
The five female members of staff in the shop were uninjured but badly shaken following this robbery at around 4.20pm on Tuesday afternoon.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: A 38-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with this robbery.
"He is due to appear at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on Thursday, July 23. A full report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal."
