AN IRVINE man has faced charges of assault and robbery as well as allegedly brandishing a blade after a drug raid on a pharmacy.
Sean Brannigan, 39, appeared from custody following his arrest in connection with a robbery in Irvine town centre at around 4.20pm on Tuesday [July 21].
Brannigan faced one charge of assault and robbery when he appeared in private during the hearing at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court.
He faced a second charge of having a bladed or pointed weapon in a public place after his arrest over alleged involvement in the incident.
Brannigan entered no plea when he faced the allegations during the hearing on Thursday [July 23].
He was committed for further examination and remanded in custody.
He will return to Kilmarnock Sherriff Court at a later date.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A 38-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with this robbery.
“He is due to appear at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on Thursday, July 23. A full report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
