Three timber ‘glamping’ pods complete with hot-tubs for holidaymakers could be set to be built on Arran.
An application for the holiday site at the The Shielin outside Brodick were submitted to North Ayrshire’s planning department last week.
Planning documents state that the glamping site will provide subtle and discreet countryside accommodation for tourists.
The applicants state: “At present there are no sites on Arran offering this kind accommodation, therefore we feel the site would be contributing a positive alternative for the visitors to Arran.
“The concept of luxury glamping is now gaining popularity throughout the UK, with standards and guests expectations on the rise. It is intended this site will be amongst the best available.”
