NORTH Ayrshire Council has started the planning process to deliver new affordable housing in Kilwinning.
The planned £1.6m Corsehillhead development, supported by £413K of Scottish Government funding, will see the creation of seven new council homes, delivering a mix of general needs and amenity properties.
Construction is scheduled to start during the autumn of 2021 and work will be carried out for an estimated one year, with the project due for completion in the autumn of 2022.
The plans form part of North Ayrshire Council’s vision to deliver 1,575 new homes in the area.
Councillor Jim Montgomerie, cabinet member for Green New Deal and Sustainability, said: “Our ambitious council housing programme has already delivered hundreds of modern, energy-efficient homes across North Ayrshire and we are well on track to meet our target of 1,575 new council houses.
“This Corsehillhead development is one in a series of housing projects we have underway in our quest to help change people’s lives for the better and transforming communities in every part of North Ayrshire is a key part of that aim.”
