Eric Laidlaw from Saltcoats has been making a fantastic effort during the coronavirus pandemic to show his appreciation for the NHS and key workers.
Every Thursday at 8pm during the clap for the NHS and key workers, Eric would take the time to go outside in fancy dress and give out bags of treats to the kids in the estate.
This became a weekly routine for Eric, which all kids and even parents looked forward to.
Eric’s Wife, Hilda said: “It brought lots of smiles to kids every Thursday, telling their parents they can’t go to bed until they see Eric.
“It was so nice and his nickname from the kids is The Sweetie Man.
“We are all so proud of him .”
