Robert and Isobel Kean recently celebrated their Ruby wedding anniversary and looked back on the 40 special years they have had together.
The lovely couple met at the age of 16 years old, when Robert was working at the Kandy Bar in Saltcoats and Isobel worked in the Dockhead Street Shop. When they met they had an instant spark and went on to get married when Robert was 18 and Isobel was 17 at the North Parish Church Saltcoats.
Their special day took place on Saturday, September 6 1980 and their love for each other has carried on to this day. When asked what the secret was to a good marriage, Isobel said: “Opposites attract, and he’s only the boss when she’s not in.”
Robert added: “Never go to bed on an argument.”
