Volunteers from the Scottish Wildlife Trust were out working this week on Gailes Marsh Wildlife Reserve in Irvine.

The wildlife reserve is rich in nature featuring dry coastal grassland, marshland and a pond sheltered by woodlands.

The area attracts a lot of different species, mainly birds, butterflies, bees, and other pollinating insects.

The volunteers were tasked with cutting back gorse and bramble areas to allow access to the fence which is due to be replaced in the near future.
