FOOTBALL has returned to Kilbirnie for the first team since the coronavirus brought a halt to the action.

Kilbirnie Ladeside were able to get back onto the pitch with a home friendly at Valefield Park set up against Port Glasgow.

The Blasties ran out as 1-0 winners as the players were able to enjoy some crucial minutes as the club build up to the start of the West of Scotland Football League.

Of course, due to current lockdown restrictions the game was played at an empty ground.

Kilbirnie will continue their preparations ahead of their anticipated first competitive game up against Carluke Rovers in TheSoccerChallenge Cup on October 24.
