A man has been arrested after a spate of break-ins across Troon.
The 38-year-old was charged after a string of thefts in the town following 'extensive local enquiries' by Police Scotland.
At around 5pm yesterday, Wednesday, September 16, officers raided an address on Kenmore.
Police recovered a large quantity of stolen property and work is ongoing to find the rightful owners and return their belongings to them.
Chief Inspector Brian Anderson, Area Commander at South Ayrshire, said: "Following the recent rise in these crimes in Troon, uniformed and plain clothes officers have been dedicated to patrols and enquiries in the local area.
"As a result of this activity, enquiries led us to an address and the arrest of the man.
"Where such crimes occur in South Ayrshire we will robustly investigate these and take every opportunity to bring those involved to justice.
"Housebreaking is a crime that causes concern in the local community and remains a priority for us".
The man will appear in court later today.
