A NEW stunning care home with seafront views is due to open in Ayr, bringing 60 new jobs to the area.

Greenan Manor will be a two-floor luxury facility that will hold 52 beds with each room boasting an en-suite.

The home will be open run by care provider Meallmore and will be an Ayrshire first for the company who have 23 other care homes across Scotland.

It will be situated on Dunure Road, Doonfoot with some rooms providing some incredible views onto Greenan shore front.

Carol-Anne Foote will oversee the project of bringing the care home to life.

The newly appointed commissioning and business development manager has told the Ayr Advertiser what to expect when the home opens.

Carol-Anne said: “Greenan Manor is going to the first Meallmore home in Ayrshire. There’s a lot in the Highlands and Glasgow as well.

“It’s going to a really special and really nice seaside location.

“It will be really luxurious – the interior design is going to bring theme of the seaside into the care home.

“All the facilities are going to be really a high standard. There will be under floor heating so it will be warm and cosy with lots of living areas, dining areas and activity areas.”

The home will promise 60-full time jobs in a variety of roles including carers, nurses, administrators, and managerial roles.

The care home will open during the coronavirus pandemic and Meallmore say they are doing everything they can to ensure the home is safe from COVID-19.

Carol- Anne said: “We have thought about how to protect residents and staff from COVID-19. All the rooms are en-suites so that will help with infection control.

“We will work really closely with the local GPs and community services to promote well being and independence the pandemic and continue to provide PPE to our staff.”
