AN Ayr pub has announced its closure after tighter lockdown restrictions were introduced.
The Buf which operated as a late night venue will close from this weekend after Nicola Sturgeon ordered all pubs to shut at 10pm.
The popular venue on Arthur Street said they are ‘unable to trade’ as a result of the curfew and restrictions on the number of households who can meet.
A spokesperson for the Buf said: “We are saddened to let our customers know that due to yesterdays announcement that licensed premises must shut at 10pm from this weekend we are having to close our doors.
“We are presently a late night venue and unfortunately the restrictions put in place regarding closing times and households means we are unable to trade.
“We don't know exactly how long we will shut for but we will use the time to reconfigure our business and come back stronger and adapted to the 'new normal'.
“We would like to thank all our customers for their support over the last three months.”
It comes just weeks after the pub chain who also has a bar on Prestwick Main Street had to close both of its venues after a member of staff was self-isolating after testing positive for coronavirus.
