A man has been arrested in connection to an alleged rape in Paisley.
The incident allegedly took place on off Brediland Road in Foxbar on Wednesday, 26 August.
A 40-year-old man has now been charged in connection to the incident.
He is due to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court today.
A report has also been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal, where inquiries remain ongoing.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We can confirm that a 40-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a serious sexual assault in Paisley.
"The incident happened off Brediland Road in the Foxbar area during the evening of Wed, 26 Aug.
"Enquiries remain ongoing."
