Camera crews descended on to the site of the former coal terminal at Hunterston this week as filming continued for the BBC’s new thriller Vigil.
It is understood a car chase scene was filmed at the Hunterston complex with the cast also visiting Largs earlier in the week.
The six-part-series stars Scottish actors Martin Compston, Rose Leslie and Gary Lewis as well as actress Suranne Jones.
Produced by World Productions – the makers of hit dramas Line of Duty and Bodyguard – Vigil centres around the mysterious disappearance of a Scottish fishing trawler and a death on-board a Trident nuclear submarine which bring the police into conflict with the Navy and British security services.
Prior to lockdown in March, a set had been built at the former coal terminal to replicate the naval base at Faslane.
Vigil is expected to air towards the end of this year or at the start of 2021 on BBC One.
