Volunteers from the Arran Coast recently participated in the Great British Beach Clean.

The team joined the beach clean to support the Marine Conservation Society and do more for marine conservation.

A spokesperson said: “Thanks to Coast volunteers, a socially safe beach clean was conducted last weekend on Cordon beach, as part of TAP: Think About Plastic - Arran’s round-island cleans.

“A total of 8.5kg of rubbish were collected, with plastic and polystyrene accounting for 82.6 per cent of litter bagged and binned.”

The team did a fantastic job and the beach is now and safer, brighter and cleaner area to visit.

Well done to everyone who took part.
