Legendary Troon bowler Paul Foster MBE is among five Ayrshire players to have been selected for Bowls Scotland’s high performance squad.
Foster – a four-time gold medallist at the Commonwealth Games – was selected in the men’s squad as preparations for the games in Birmingham in 2022 get underway.
Other Ayrshire bowlers to be selected include Claire Johnston (Auchinleck BC) and Hannah Smith (Auchinleck BC) in the women’s squad.
Garry Hood (Ayr Craigie BC) and John Wardrope (Ayr Seafield BC) were selected for
the para bowls team.
The squad selected is a preliminary shortlist of athletes that will be in contention for the final selection process for the Commonwealth Games in 2022. Those successful will go on to represent Team Scotland.
