Pupils and staff have been praised after they raised more than £900 for Ayrshire’s hospice.

And the secondary school were thanked after presenting a check to the hospice at the school last week.

The secondary school said they were proud to support the amazing cause once again.

A spokesperson for the Ayrshire Hospice said: “Stephanie from our fundraising team was delighted to meet with Mrs Stuart, charity co-ordinator at Kilwinning Academy yesterday [Tuesday, November 3] who presented us with an amazing total of £907.50 raised from their dress down day for Go Purple. Thank you so much to all staff and pupils who donated.

“We have been very touched with the fantastic response to this year’s Go Purple campaign despite the difficulties surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Your support is greatly appreciated.”
