A FORMER partner was fined for stalking his ex after repeatedly driving past her house and turning up at her work.

Anthony Green, 58, admitted causing his former partner fear and alarm through the behaviour, including being spotted repeatedly driving past the house and leaving her a present on her car.

The court heard Green of Irvine’s West Road, had been in a relationship for 16 years.

He admitted repeatedly driving past her address in Irvine, which the court heard was caught on CCTV she set up, and loitering at an Industrial estate between December 9 2019 and January18 this year.

When she sent her car to a valet, on her return she found a bag with a gift box, with a card reading ‘old habits die hard’ .

Defence solicitor Sandy Currie said there was no objection to a non-harassment order but insisted Green acted with ‘no malice’.

Describing his behaviour as ‘unrequited love”, he added: “If there is a lesson to be learned he has learned it.”

Sheriff Shirley Foran ordered Green to pay a £400 fine and placed him on a two-year non harassment order, staying away from his ex.
