An investigation into a man's death after his body was discovered at Kilwinning train station has been concluded.

British Transport Police (BTP) officers were called to the railway station shortly after 7am on Monday, November 2, after reports of an unresponsive person.

BTP worked to identify the man and then found and informed his family of the tragedy.

Paramedics had attended the scene but the man was pronounced dead and now the investigation has ended with the death deemed to be not suspicious.

Previously, BTP appealed to the public for information asking anyone that may have seen the man in the area from around 8pm on Sunday, November 1, to get in touch to assist in enquiries.
