Irvine youngsters hope to spread some festive cheer around the town, despite the coronavirus putting a stop to the usual Christmas fun.
Irvine Youth Forum are encouraging residents to get their entries in for this year’s Christmas Window Competition – open across the whole of Irvine.
The first prize winner will be given the big £50 prize, with £30 up for grabs for second place and a cool £20 note lined up for third.
There will also be a selection of runner up prizes to bring a bit of festive cheer amid the unprecedented circumstances for locals and especially key workers.
Residents must register their entries by Saturday, December 5 by sending their name and address to irvineneighbourhood youthforum@hotmail.com or text 07500973214, with entries open to all addresses within the KA12 and KA11 postcode areas of Irvine.
Organisers say entrants will be informed of the specific day a photograph will be taken of each individual window.
We reported previously how the youngsters of Irvine Youth Forum would be taking the lead on Irvine’s annual switch on event – before the worldwide coronavirus pandemic put a stop to most social gatherings.
Council officer Liz Sullivan said: “Sign up and get involved. Good luck everyone.”
