Kier Construction have been appointed as the preferred contractors for the building of the new Netherthird Primary School.
East Ayrshire Council said that the project team and head teacher, Jemma Donnelly will work closely with Kier Construction over the next weeks to formalise the programme for the construction, including developing a final design that can be delivered within budget.
Councillor Fiona Campbell, Cabinet Member for Skills and Learning said this week: “This is a really exciting time for Netherthird Primary School and the whole community.
“Now that the Council has appointed Kier Construction, the project team, with Head Teacher Jemma Donnelly, will be able to press ahead with developing a design for the new build school.
“They will be keeping parents, carers and the young people updated throughout the process.”
East Ayrshire Cabinet agreed to replace the existing Netherthird Primary and Early Childhood Centre back in 2018.
The new school will have the capacity to accommodate 278 pupils, with nine classrooms for 254 pupils and four supported learning classrooms for a further 24 students.
