After over a year of lying as an empty shell with an uncertain future, Dalgarven House Hotel outside Kilwinning is being transformed into an exclusive spa resort.

Spa Houses, run by husband and wife Lorna and Alan Carnegie, bought the hotel to add it to their impressive portfolio of luxury properties in Ayrshire.

And it’s all systems go to get the newly named Riverside Spa and Wedding Venue open next month.

Couples can book the whole venue for their big day or hen parties or stag parties can book the hotel and even have their own butler to top up their drinks as part of the new look venue.

Spa Houses run The Old Nunnery and the Wee Nunnery in Skelmorlie and the Golden Crown and King’s Landing in Tarbolton. The Dalgarven site complete with its 10 bedrooms is now being marketed as having a private bar, drinks butler, spa facilities and a function room with catering and spa treatments.

Workers are busy in the garden area and installing an outdoor hot tub within the spa area of Riverside.

It will be next to the hotel’s sauna, which guests will have exclusive access to and there’s an adjoining bar.

The hotel is also focusing on weddings – offering the wedding parties the use of the entire hotel for their own party for as many days as they would like.

Alan said: “We are looking forward to re-opening Dalgarven House Hotel in the Spring.

“We hope to expand the previous owner’s popular wedding venue with the addition of exclusive

venue hire for other occasions.”
