A NORTH Ayrshire centre that helps disabled residents become independent has once again secured a top investors in people award for its efforts.

The Dirrans centre in Kilwinning has once again held onto its Platinum Investor’s In People status – beating off competition from nine other entries.

Susan Finnagan from the Dirrans Centre said: “We’re absolutely thrilled!

“Through one of the most difficult years professionally and personally for everyone we are very proud to be given this award.

“Always encouraged to move forward.”

Praising the centre last month, the Health and Social Care Partnership’s latest director’s report states: “Congratulations go to our team at the Dirrans Centre in Kilwinning, who this week won the Platinum Employer of the Year title at the Investors in People Awards 2020.

“The centre had been shortlisted alongside nine other Platinum-rated employers for the Employer of the Year title and was announced the winner at a virtual ceremony on Wednesday.

“The Platinum Award is the highest accolade available through the internationally recognised Investors in People scheme, so to reach this level is a fantastic achievement in itself and is testament to the hard work and commitment of the management and staff at the centre.

The Dirrans Centre rehabilitation facility provides personalised community based supports to build independence, self-management and activity for service users across North Ayrshire.

It has held the platinum award since 2017.
