A number of roads will be closed in Dalmellington to allow for improvement works to the water network.

From Monday, March 1, Scottish Water’s alliance partner, Caledonia Water Alliance, will be carrying out upgrades to water pipes in the area.

Work to replace the water main will start in Church Hill and will move on a rolling programme into Melling Terrace, Dalton Avenue, Castle Road, Castle Croft, Townhead, Newbiggin Road, Casphairn Road, High Street, Knowehead and B741, before coming to an end on High Main Street at the junction with Gateside Road.

Due to safety concerns, road closures will be in effect. The works will have an impact at the following locations:

• A road closure between 8am-5pm on Townhead from the junction of Castle Road to the junction of High Street for approximately two weeks from April 6.

• A road closure on High Street from number 52 to number 2 for approximately two weeks from June 21.

• A road closure on Churchill from the junction of The Path to number 16 The Path for approximately one week from August 23.

It is expected that the work will take around 29 weeks to complete.
