VOLUNTEERS from a local pet rescue service who look after greyhounds have thanked a national charity for a five figure cash boost.
Royal Heart Greyhound Rescue at Langbank were awarded £2,000 from Sponsor Adoption for Pets - a charity linked to Pets at Home.
The money will be used by the rescue - founded by Rachel Anderson (pictured) - for vet bills, food and essentials for the animals.
Lesley Roberts, a member of the fundraising team, said: "It has been extremely hard for us to keep going.
"We are a very small family run rescue in Langbank with no means to bring in money other than donations and grants this year.
"We would not be able to continue without the help of the local Pets at Home store and we appreciate everything they do for us.
"We also thank the customers and are very grateful that we have been in receipt of so much local community help."
