A man caught taking a picture of a resident's front door was reported to police.
The mystery camera man was captured on a resident’s CCTV door alarm system taking photographs of their front door in the Dickson Drive area last week [Monday, February 15]
Irvine police confirmed they were investigating but told the Times they have not yet found any criminality.
A resident told the Times: “We have recently had a gentleman take pictures of our front door, confirmed not to be a delivery driver of any sort.
“Turns out a person matching the same description has been taking pictures of numerous houses. This has been reported to the police. People were saying they have had similar sightings in the Three Towns lately and could be related to dog fighting – though I don’t have a dog personally.
“Police advised they will investigate and get in touch if they find anything out.
“With two young kids in the house it really does make you worry about things like this.
“We confirmed it was nothing to do with the letting agents or owner of the building. No parcels expected that day either.”
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Police are aware of a single report of a male taking a photograph of a property on Dickson Drive on the February 15 2021.
“At this time no criminality has been established.”
Any information on any criminality in the area can be reported to Police Scotland on 101. In an emergency always dial 999.
