A PAIR of Prestwick siblings are aiming to cycle 130km to raise money for their auntie so she can go to Mexico to be treated for a debilitating condition.

Finlay Nutt,10, and his little sister Isla, eight, have taken on a super bike riding challenge to raise money for their Auntie Emma.

Finlay and Isla want to raise as much money as they can for their aunt to go to Mexico for life changing treatment for her MS (Multiple Sclerosis).

The pair hope that the treatment will give them some more quality time with their beloved auntie before her MS gets worse. They hope that she’ll be able to take them and their cousins Rory and Skye to the park or swimming one day.

They’ve already completed 75km during the February half-term break and they’re well on their way to their 130km target.

The duo are keen cyclists, but they’ve really had to push themselves through the recent wild weather.

Despite the conditions they are marching on towards their goal, their determination to help their aunt carrying them through.

Ayr Advertiser:

They’ve set up a fundraiser on Go Fund Me and they’re asking for any donations to be sent there.

Thier auntie’s treatment costs £40,000 but the siblings were realistic with their targets, initially only setting a £100 target, which was quickly smashed and they’ve now raised £1,935.

Their dream target would be to raise over £2,500 for their special Auntie Emma.

Finlay and Isla said: “We have never felt like we were doing this challenge alone. Our mum and dad always cycle along with us and support us. All our friends and family are so caring.

“We are loving the cycling challenge and knowing that we are helping Auntie Emma. Although we didn’t realise just how far 130km was in the Ayrshire winds.

“We can’t wait to see Auntie Emma and our cousins when lockdown is finished. It will be really special knowing how far we have cycled to help her raise money towards her life changing treatment.”

Multiple sclerosis is a neurological condition which affects the brain and spinal cord and can lead to serious disability. Instead of fighting off infection, the immune system attacks the nerves which control different parts of the body.

The money that Finlay and Isla raise will go towards HSCT therapy to halt the progression of the disease to their auntie.

If you want to help the pair reach their £2,500 target head to https://gofund.me/3cead139 or go to the Go Fund Me website and search for Help Auntie Emma, the fundraiser is under the name of Debbie Nutt.

Good luck to Finlay and Isla from all at the Advertiser.
