A NEW indoor sports facility could be coming to Kilwinning with plans to transport the building’s frame from Ardeer.

Kilwinning Rangers are set to be gifted an 18mx64m frame structure as part of its grand plans at Kilwinning Sports Club by ICI Nylon Plant Site managers NPL which would be transported over from Stevenston.

Possible activities would include netball, basketball, table tennis, martial arts, indoor football, fitness classes, and after school sports – with the Buffs keen for any other suggestions.

A spokesperson said: “It will take a lot of blood, sweat and tears to get the building moved and it won’t happen overnight, but everyone involved is determined to make this happen.

“This is a very exciting development and is down to the hard work and vision of the Buffs committee, working in Partnership with Kilwinning Community Sports Club.

“A special mention for key players Colin Evans, Colin Boyd and Jim Hodge for their hard word and vision on this and also to Ardeer Regeneration for their generosity.

“If there are any businesses interested in working with us on this, please get in touch.”
