A KIND-HEARTED Kilwinning man has given a huge thanks to the community Easter egg appeal.

Resident Michael Kirkum, alongside son Michael Kirkum Jnr, has been continuing to collect for the kids in Crosshouse and across the area as the coronavirus pandemic continues.

And Michael– who also does the annual Christmas selection box collection – thanked residents and businesses for their amazing support.

He revealed that he was amazed they smashed their target with more than 1,000 eggs plus 500 Creme Eggs after hoping to total 250.

Michael said: “I’m humbled by the response received to this year’s appeal.

“It has been tough for many families during this pandemic and many are facing problems for some time to come so it’s heartwarming to say that 1,009 Easter eggs and 500 creme eggs have been donated between Crosshouse children’s ward, The Playz, Cranberry Moss food larder, Aces Woodwynd food larder and some local children’s groups benefited from this year’s appeal.”

Michael added: “I could not do so well without support from the local community. These people make it possible for this to be successful.

“These include Graham Crawley, Gerry Monan, Martyn Kerr Gallagher insurance, George Taggart, Lyle Porter Billy Frew, George and Annmarie, On Fire driving, and the Alton Inn.

“Thank you from myself and Michael Kirkum Jnr.”
