A NEW service where you can plant a tree or install a bench has started in Kilwinning’s McGavin Park.
Organised by Kilwinning Community Events, people can now plant a tree of remembrance in the park.
They can also have a bench installed in the park through the group’s work with Ogilvie Engineering.
The group is offering the service with trees costing £75 and benches costing around £400.
It will be up to the individuals to have a plaque arranged for the tree or the bench.
During lockdown more and more people are using the facilities at McGavin Park and the hope is that there are more benches for people to enjoy meeting up outside during the summer months.
A spokesperson for Kilwinning Community Events said: “The prices for trees vary depending on maturity and type and suitable trees and stakes will be accepted by the group September to Mid April each year for planting.”
