A fire has taken hold of a large out building near Eglinton Country Park this afternoon with firefighters working to tackle the blaze.

Fire crews were alerted to reports of trees on fire in the Kilwinning park at around 3pm today, Tuesday, May 18 and are now working to put out the building fire.

Crews are currently in attendance and there have been no reported casualties thus far.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 3.05pm on Tuesday, May 18 to reports of trees on fire at Eglinton Park, Kilwinning.

“Operations Control mobilised two appliances to the scene where firefighters are tackling a fire at a large out building.

“Crews currently remain at the scene. There are no reported casualties at this time.”
