Two members of an Irvine paedophile hunting group have now been charged after a sex offender was led away from a house by the hand.

A 28-year-old man was arrested this week and later charged following an alleged disturbance in Aberfeldy Terrace back in April 27.

A woman aged 30 was later charged for alleged stalking yesterday [Tuesday, June 1] with both now due to face the charges in court.

Police confirmed to the Times back in April officers attended and engaged with members of the Team Shades group who later dispersed - with no arrests made at the time.

A statement from the group's Facebook page said: "We as a team feel that no criminal offence had taken place and we did do the peaceful protest in line with the government guidelines.

"The two members have been given special conditions not to protest or record anyone that is a sex offender but we have 16 more members to continue as normal."

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "A 28-year-old man, has been arrested and charged in connection with a disturbance outside a property on Aberfeldy Terrace in Irvine around 7.15pm on Tuesday, April 27.

"A 30-year-old woman has also been charged with stalking offences.

"Reports will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal and both are expected to appear at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court at a later date."
