Contact tracing is underway at an Irvine bowling club after confirmed coronavirus cases.

NHS bosses confirmed individuals have since been contacted Irvine Park Bowling Club and advised to self isolate and book a test.

The club were keen to relay their stringent measures that have been in place since they have been able to re-open afte restrictions and their secretary spoke to the Times.

Club secretary Adam Easdon: "We've had two positive cases as far as I'm aware - but one was up in Glasgow and other in Edinburgh.

"The club has done everything we're supposed to do and got an outstanding report from the Evironmental Health people last week.

"Since the first positive case we shut the club and had a deep clean then Evironmental Health checked over." 

Lynne McNiven, Director of Public Health said: "NHS Ayrshire and Arran’s Test and Protect team can confirm that a contact tracing exercise has been carried out with links to Irvine Park Bowling Club in North Ayrshire council area, following confirmed cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19) infection.

"We have undertaken a careful risk assessment to identify any individuals who may have had contact with the confirmed cases. These individuals and their households have been contacted and told to self-isolate for 10 days and book a test.

"All relevant Public Health measures are in place and our Public Health Team is working with North Ayrshire Environmental Health Officers to manage and monitor the situation.

"To respect and maintain patient confidentiality it is not possible to release any further information at this time."
