IRVINE Golf Club have crowned their champion after the annual strokeplay competition was held.
The club held its big annual strokeplay competition on Sunday, May 30 in sunny and warm conditions – with members glad to get back out after on and off lockdowns.
The event, which was played over two rounds was a close affair and at the half way point there were four players tied for the lead on 70 (-1) with a further six players within three shots.
The winner, Gordon Dunlop, shot a superb second round of 69 (-2) to edge out Greg Cathie on the better second round score to win the trophy for the first time with a total of 142.
Gordon adds his name to a long list of high
pedigree winners at the club, which includes
three Scottish Champions.
