Two paedophile hunters were told to stay away from a creep convicted of trying to meet a child on the internet as both faced charges of threatening behaviour and stalking after a protest organised on Facebook.

Linzi Affleck, 30, and Ryan McGovern, 28, of Irvine-based Team Shades group both pled not guilty to the charges on the complaint when they appeared in court last week [Thursday, June 24].

The group’s founder Linzi Affleck, of Fleming Terrace, was charged with a stalking offence after allegedly engaging in a course of conduct which caused the complainer fear and alarm, while Ryan McGovern of Dreghorn’s Main Street is accused of threatening or abusive behaviour.

We reported how the 28-year-old Team Shades member was arrested and charged last month after an alleged disturbance in Aberfeldy Terrace back in April 27 this year, while Linzi Affleck was asked to turn up at the police station the next day.

Affleck is accused of organising and engaging in protests at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court, Irvine High Street and Aberfeldy Terrace between February 11, 2019 and April 27, 2021.

The complaint accuses her of repeatedly pursuing and video recording Garry Allmark, shouted and swore at the offender, posted information, images and video recordings of him on social media - as well as engaging in a protests at his home address, displaying banners, shouting and swearing obscenities and allegedly causing a public disturbance while live streaming this on social media.

The Crown alleges Ryan McGovern caused fear and alarm through engaging in a protest, cause a public disturbance, shouting, swearing, utter obscenities, repeatedly strike a door their, attempt to entice the offender to leave the property.

Both pled not guilty to the charges as their defence solicitor requested bail, when they both appeared at their first summary hearing in Kilmarnock Sheriff Court.

The Procurator Fiscal said the Crown had no opposition to bail but requested specific conditions that both of the accused not approach or contact Garry Allmark.

The sheriff said: “You can’t approach his home, place of work – if he has one – you can’t get in contact in any way.

He added: “The court is in control of these conditions not Garry Allmark.”

Trial was set for next year with an earlier intermediary diet hearing scheduled where both’s attendance will be excused.
