Irvine Harbourside Men’s Shed are opening their doors to volunteers and new members once again at their new base in Irvine.

Irvine Harbourside Men’s Shed, which is now located on Kyle Road after starting in the Scottish Maritime Museum, reopens after a refurbishment to the woodworking shop and welcome area.

The Men’s Shed volunteers are also busy getting the Hobby Room ready for model making to add to the other facilities for internet and printing.

Irvine Harbourside Men’s Shed is open to all men over 18 years of age who can drop in between 10am – 3pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Plans to open on Wednesdays too are underway and COVID safety measures are in place, including hand sanitisers and masks for those who need them.

All equipment and facilities at the Irvine Harbourside Men’s Shed are free to use and there is no membership fee.

Colin Daye of Irvine Harbourside Men’s Shed said: “After such a difficult year for so many, we’re delighted to reopen and welcome new members. The Men’s Shed is a wonderful opportunity for everyone to get out of the house on a Tuesday and Thursday and enjoy a cuppa and chat with others or get more hands on tackling projects using the machinery and

internet.

“It’s very informal and there’s always help on hand for anyone who needs assistance with the use of the equipment. Now’s the perfect time to pop along and find out more.”
