Here's a round up of some of the latest crimes, appeals and police call outs officers are still probing or appealing for your help on 101.

Assault - Caldon Road

A 58-year-old man was seriously assaulted in a violent attack at a house in Irvine last month. 

At around 9.50pm on the evening of Saturday, June 5, the man was at an address on Caldon Road when four men came to the house and seriously assaulted him.

Police and ambulance attended and the injured man was taken to Crosshouse Hospital where he was treated for lacerations and later released.

The four men responsible were all wearing dark-coloured clothing.

Youth disorder - Irvine beach

Cops are still hunting a group of youngsters after disorder at Irvine beach as residents and visitors enjoyed the better weather.

Three vehicles raced down Harbour Street just after 7pm on Wednesday, June 30 after reports of a disturbance on the beach.

Police confirmed enquiries are ongoing into the unspecified incident after the group fled on arrival.

New clue in Shona Stevens murder

Irvine Times:

Police released fresh details of an item found at the scene of the fatal attack on Shona Stevens in 1994 and are appealing for help from the public.

Shona, 31, was found on a footpath located near to the rear of Alder Green in the Bourtreehill Park area of Irvine on November 10. 

The mum of one had sustained serious head injuries and died in hospital days later.

As part of a recent review into the case by Police Scotland, officers believe this item may be of significance and are asking for the community’s help.

Tool thefts - Dreghorn

Nearly £6,000 worth of tools have been stolen after a spate of thefts in Dreghorn. Property was stolen from three vehicles after they were broken into overnight between Friday, June 25 and Saturday, June 26.

A VW van was entered whilst parked on Marble Avenue, with the perpetrator making off with power tools.

A Ford Transit van was broken in to whilst parked in Iona Court and again, a number of power tools were taken, and a further Ford Transit was also targeted whilst parked on Stroma Court. This time a chainsaw was stolen.

A further incident involving the attempted theft of a catalytic converter from a Honda motor vehicle has also been reported to the rear of Bute Court, again in Dreghorn, during the early hours of June 26. 

Annick smash

Cops were called out to a crash on Annick Road after 2pm on Monday, July 5 outside Irvine's Riverside Lodge, with queues at either side of the Annick Bridge. 

There are no reported injuries but police enquiries into the incident are continuing.

Missing man - Jamie Cannon

Irvine Times:

Officers are re-appealing to the public for any information on the whereabouts of 19-year-old Jamie Cannon, who is still missing from his home in Saltcoats.
