A dogwalker was attacked by two men who allegedly then tried to steal the man's pet in Irvine.
The man was assaulted while walking his dog on Irvine Moor around 11pm last night [July 15] with cops confirming enquiries are ongoing but at an early stage.
The Times was told both the dogwalker and his dog are okay after the incident.
The two men are described as white, one wearing a black tracksuit, around 5,10. The other was wearing tanned grey and black tracksuit bottoms and about 6ft.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We received a call around 11pm on Thursday, July 15, in connection with an assault in the Irvine Moor area.
"Enquiries are ongoing and at an early stage.”
