A man in his forties was taken to hospital with serious injuries after an attack in Irvine as cops attempt to trace the culprit.
The resident, aged 42, was taken to hospital after the attack in Gigha Wynd in the Broomlands area of town just before 9pm last night [Thursday, July 15].
Police confirmed the man sustained serious injuries, specifically to one of his arms, with enquiries into the incident ongoing.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Police received report of a 42-year-old man having been assaulted on Gigha Wynd in Irvine around 8.55pm on Thursday, July 15, 2021.
"The man was taken to University Hospital Crosshouse with serious arm injuries.
"Enquiries into the incident are ongoing.”
