Police and ambulance crews are on the scene at Dundonald Road, Dreghorn after a car and a moped were involved in a crash a short while ago.
The accident, which occured on the busy road near the Holmsford Bridge Crematorium roundabout just before midday has caused traffic to slow in the area.
Police are on the scene whilst recovery of the vehicles is arranged.
It's thought that both drivers have not suffered any serious injuries as a result of the crash.
And the road remains open.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 11.50am on Tuesday, July 20, officers were called to the Dundonald Road area of Irvine, following a report of a road crash involving a car and a motorbike. Officers remain at the scene as recovery is being arranged.”
