Irvine Meadow co-manager, Colin Spence says he saw enough positives from his team on Saturday to know they can go on a positive run of results.
The Medda lost their opening West of Scotland Football League match 3-1 to Glenafton at Meadow Park on Saturday in the first tie of the new league set up.
Spence knows that his team must cut out the costly defensive mistakes after conceding seven goals in their last two games.
He told the Times: “It’s frustrating because we actually started the game very well and for the first 30 minutes I though we were the better side. I suppose it’s a bit of comfort knowing where we need to improve, but there was enough on show for me to know that we can improve.
“We’re under a bit of pressure now to get a result on Wednesday against Rutherglen, which will be another tough game, but that’s
what we’re all here for.
“I wouldn’t have minded a week of good training, but the players will like the chance of having another game so soon to go and
make it right from the weekend.
“Overall though, it felt good being back out there and in front of the fans”.
