Ayrshire Tigers Powerchair Football Club are glad to announce they will be returning to training on Thursdays at

Coylton Activity Centre between 5pm and 7pm, with the first session being on Thursday, July 22.

The club would like to welcome powerchair users of all ages and abilities, to come along anytime between 5pm and 7pm to take part in free taster sessions.

Powerchair Football is a unique sport that provides opportunities for people with a high level of impairment to access the game of football.

It is the only active team participation sport for people who use electric wheelchairs.

Due to the unique nature of Powerchair Football it allows all ages, disabilities and both genders to compete together.

The main aim of the Club is to offer powerchair football to powerchair users who live in the Ayrshire area. Their players have a range of different disabilities and they either choose to play for fun or competitively.

As a club, they cater for all abilities, from beginners to those who have some experience of playing Powerchair Football.

The club has a team which competes in the National League which is run by the Scottish Powerchair Football Association (SPFA).

Players compete by either having special bumpers attached to their own wheelchair or for more serious competition, players use specially modified club owned chairs which are faster and more responsive.

Club chairperson Stuart Niven said:“The Ayrshire Tigers players are all raring to go back to training with COVID-19 restrictions now eased.

“It’s great news for the club, as we have been closed down for the past 15 months.

“We are also hoping to welcome new players and volunteers to the amazing sport of powerchair football over the coming

weeks.”

New members are welcome, so if you are a powerchair user and fancy going along to see what the club is all about just pop along on a Thursday or get in touch by calling club Chairperson, Stuart Niven on 07936295779. Alternatively, you can email the Club at arshiretigers@gmail.com.
