A teenage girl has gone missing from Saltcoats.

Jennifer Barclay, aged 19, was last seen at Saltcoats train station boarding a train to Glasgow Central Central around 10.40am on Tuesday, July 20, and has not been seen or heard of since.

There is growing concern for her welfare.

She is described as being 5ft 9ins tall of a slim build, with a fair complexion and long auburn coloured hair. At the time she went missing, Jennifer was wearing a white, short sleeved sheer top over a black vest with black trousers.

Cops say that when she was last seen, Jennifer was boarding a train that was heading to Glasgow Central Station, however it is possible she got off the train anywhere between Saltcoats and Glasgow.

Sergeant Lana Grant of Irvine police office said: “Along with her family, we are becoming increasingly concerned for Jennifer’s welfare and are keen to locate her as soon as possible.

“It is known that she got on a train at Saltcoats train station which was heading to Glasgow Central, however, it is possible that she got off the train at any stop in-between.

"I would urge anyone who may have seen her to contact us immediately. Similarly, if Jennifer is reading this, let us know you are safe and well.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident 2353 of 20 July.
