If you are of a certain age, the Magnum Centre in Irvine would have been a solid staple of your formative years.

The leisure centre that perched on the green behind Irvine's Riverside was a warehouse of fun when you were growing up in Ayrshire.

From ice skating to indoor lawn bowls, from swimming in the river rapids to freezing your head off in the outdoor pool - the memories of the legendary centre are etched on your brain.

And let's not forget those of us who were brave enough to try the flumes. With the iconic space bowl (clue in the name) being many an Ayrshire child's introduction to pain, after being spat out of its 'bowl' at random and hoping for the best.

The Magnum was demolished four years ago this week and has been replaced by grass. Hard to imagine a building like Magnum once stood there, however, the Times has access to some of the final photos taken inside the building, thanks to urban explorers Discovery Unknown UK.

Irvine Times:

The duo, who remain nameless due to the nature of exploring, managed to access the centre in the final days of the demolition.

They said: "We were able to access the swimming pool and the ice rink before security arrived because of the kids causing damage.

"It is really important for us to take these pictures as these old buildings mean so much to the community and their memories"

Irvine Times:

If it was going to the panto in the black box theatre, or trying to badger your parents to let you have a shot of the mighty monsters soft play only to find out you were an inch too short (just me?), the memories of Irvine's Magnum live on.

What are your memories of the Magnum? Do you have any pictures from when it was open?
