Irvine Lasses Burns Club has relaunched its annual heritage tours of the harbourside as groups get back in business after lockdown restrictions.

Almost 10 years ago, The Irvine Harbourside Heritage Project was launched by The Irvine Burns Club and North Ayrshire Council courtesy of a successful joint bid to the Heritage Lottery Fund to promote an awareness of the rich heritage and history of the Fullarton area.

Irvine Lasses Burns Club quickly adopted this heritage trail and, in recent years, has offered harbourside heritage walks during Marymass Week. Unfortunately for the second year, Marymass has been cancelled due the Covid pandemic but the Lasses are delighted to invite locals to join them on one of three guided walks during what should have been the festival.

Rosemary Murdoch, Irvine Lasses President, said: “The Lasses look forward to welcoming Irvine residents and visitors to this year’s walks.”

The walks start at the Pilot House at 2pm on Tuesday, August 17, Wednesday 18, and Thursday 19.
