AN IRVINE golfer picked up the cup at the The Ferdi Righetti Seniors open.
The event was successfully held on a rain-soaked Wednesday, August 11 – with Gary Cochran of Irvine Ravenspark Golf Club winner of the Ferdi Righetti Seniors Open 2021.
A spokesperson said: “Considering the weather, we had an amazing turnout of 51 players from all over Scotland with a few returning for their annual visit from Bury in England.
“The course held up well in the wet conditions and the battling participants produced some amazing scores with the outright winner being Gary Cochran of Irvine Ravenspark Golf Club with a brilliant net 67 (6) to win by five shots.
“The age category winners were Ron Nolan (Kingsknowe Golf Club), Eric Linn (Skerlmorlie Golf Club) and Dave Cunningham (Gourock Golf Club).
“A huge thank you to the main sponsor Captain Alex Haggerty, all who turned out, the organising team, green and bar staff, restaurant team and in particular to the Righetti Family who have supported Millport Golf Club for many years.”
